Is "culture" the new cool?  Underwriting corporate culture and risk in the modern age

Corporate culture has become a huge focus in the world of risk and regulation. Regulators such as ASIC are increasingly emphasising the importance of culture and the link between poor corporate culture and risk.  The current Financial Services Royal Commission is tasked with identifying instances of corporate misconduct that are attributable to particular culture and governance practices.

For our next seminar, APIG NSW is delighted to welcome our guest speaker Catherine Maxwell, Executive Manager, Policy & Advocacy at the Governance Institute of Australia.  Governance Institute of Australia is one of the authors of "Managing Culture:  A good practice guide", published in December 2017, a very timely paper examining issues of corporate culture, governance, risk and regulation.

Catherine will speak to some of the key themes coming out of the "Managing Culture" publication.  Our insurance industry panel will then comment on underwriting, broking and claims implications of the new emphasis on culture and governance.
